Research Visit @ FEUN, Science & Technology Park Nis and the XXIX International Scientific Conference

From June 26-28, 2024, Co-PLAN’s engaged researcher of CROSS-REIS project attended the Faculty of Economics at the University of Niš (FEUN) hosted event. With the aim to foster collaborative research and data sharing among widening partners, the event highlighted many interesting activities mainly focused on FEUN’s infrastructure, projects, and future potential for extensive cooperation among all partners

The event commenced with a warm welcome from Jelena Stanković, CROSS-REIS Project Coordinator, and Dragana Radenković-Jocić, Vice-Dean of the FEUN.

As project partners, we were introduced to various FEUN projects and research activities through various presentations by Ivana Marjanović (UR-DATA), Sandra Milanović (USE-IPM), Sonja Jovanović (Green & Social Startups), Milica Jovanović Vujatović (Light Code), Vesna Janković Milić (ODLEP), and Ružica Petrović (JUST4ALL).  During these discussions, further insights were provided by Marija Džunić on the LEUA Laboratory and Marina Stanojević, who presented the journal “Economic Themes.”, and our ambition as CROSSREIS partners, to have the first publication being issued by December this year. The afternoon session was dedicated to the semi-annual meeting of project partners. Jelena Stanković opened the session with remarks, which then continued with discussions on the preparation of the further CROSS-REIS events. The day concluded with a comprehensive discussion, fostering collaboration and planning for future activities.

On our second day of the visit, we had the privilege to be toured at the Science-Technology Park Niš (the second largest one in Serbia) in which we attended a presentation on the Advanced Technology Forum, gaining valuable insights into technological innovations. The day was concluded with the visit to the SKIP Centar, the first Serbian-Korean Information Access Center, in which we were offered the perspective on digital literacy efforts at the local level.

The event concluded with discussions on regional development challenges and demographic trends as part of the XXIX International Scientific Conference of FEUN, where insightful and interesting research works were presented at various track sessions.
