Today yet another public space in the city was reinstated its deserved value and importance. The community from Municipal Unit no.5 in the city of Tirana, in cooperation with Co-PLAN, the Municipality of Tirana and POLIS University, have worked together for several months to transform the space they share in their residential area. They have greened the area, added functions to it as well as recreational space based on the needs and agreement of the residents. The result of this participatory planning is admirable.
Sot një tjetër hapësirë publike në qytet rimori vlerat dhe rëndësinë e merituar. Komuniteti i një zone tek njësia bashkiake nr.5 së bashku me Co-PLAN, Bashkinë Tiranë dhe Universitetin POLIS, kanë punuar së bashku për disa muaj, për të shndërruar hapësirën mes pallateve të tyre. Ata e kanë gjelbëruar, sistemuar, kanë shtuar hapësirat rekreative, sipas vullnetit dhe dakordësisë së përbashkët të qytetarëve të zonës. Rezultati është i admirueshëm.
We are pleased to invite you to the Solar Capsule event, a structure built entirely based on high energy efficiency principles, to become part of a the 2 day event dedicated to ‘Energy Saving through better Energy Efficiency’. The activity is currently taking place in the outdoor premises of QTU (Qendra Tregtare Univers) on December 18 (today) and 19 (tomorrow).
Given that the capsule has been constructed based on entirely energy efficient materials and principles, you as visitors will have a chance to learn on practical ways you can improve energy efficiency in your homes. Whereas for all the curious people who would like to construct something similar, a special session will be held by the authors of the solar capsule who will be explaining in detail the design and the technology that was used.

Co-PLAN, Instituti për Zhvillimin e Habitatit në bashkëpunim me Bashkinë Tiranë dhe International Finance Corporation (IFC) organizuan sot Tryezën e Rrumbullakët “Manaxhimi i Integruar i Mbetjeve Urbane në Qytetin e Tiranës”. Tirana, June 2012 – Co-PLAN joined in the US Embassy [in Tirana] Call to encourage the citizens to come together and speak up. ‘Bëj të dëgjohet zëri yt’ marks the first step of this new initiative undertaken by the US Ambassador in Tirana, Mr. Alexander A. Arvizu, entitled ‘ACT NOW – Albanian Citizens Together Now’. At first, Ambassador Arvizu introduced his initiative to representatives of civil society, notable personalities in the country and media representatives in a meeting held at the National Theatre. He stressed the importance of the citizen knowing his rights and responsibilities, as well as becoming a proactive part of city-making and decision-making.
